Cultivating the Attitude of Gratitude
Two days before the Thanksgiving holiday and I am filled with gratitude on so many levels!
It’s supposed to be a day of gathering friends, family, and to take time to think about what we are grateful for. Gratitude is one of the most uplifting of spiritual feelings one can have. Without it, we have no focus and our desires tend to sit on the fence. Gratitude helps us launch our desires, and allows us to spend time in a place of peace and contentment. It’s said that before we sleep each night we should think of the things we are grateful for…sounds like a great idea!
One tradition we have in our family at Thanksgiving is the “Thank You” box. We write down
anonymously the things we are most grateful for and put them in the box. Then, after we have stuffed ourselves with turkey, pie, etc we read these. There is always something unexpected; I wonder what will be said this year? Especially when the focus as of late has been on LACK rather than the simple ABUNDANCE that is all around us….hmm…
So be in the place of gratitude this holiday and every day of your life! I ask…what is the alternative?
Blissfully yours, Julie

Good message and good ideas. Since it takes all sorts of things to make up our lives, we must recognize the need for
adversity. It helps make us who we are, along with the good stuff. It helps create a balance. Then there are the times when my “balance” seems to be a bit lopsided toward the adverse side! That’s when I have to really put some thought into gratitude. It’s good for the soul.
